Now Seeking Poetry!

The Saltbush Review is now open for Poetry Submissions!

Due to overwhelming interest, we are extending our general submissions deadline and opening the journal to Poetry!

Poetry has always been a planned part of The Saltbush Review, and we are delighted to be able to bring this section of the journal to life sooner than anticipated.

Our new submissions deadline for all works, both prose and poetry, is now the 30th of June 2021.

The theme for our inaugural issue is ‘Water.’

For more details of the theme and the submissions guidelines, have a look at our website here: Submissions – The Saltbush Review

You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.

We can’t wait to read your work!

Submissions Open!

We are currently seeking submissions of new writing!

The Saltbush Review publishes literary fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. For our inaugural issue, to be launched in August, we are seeking submissions of short fiction, creative nonfiction, and memoir of up to 2,500 words on the theme of ‘Water.’ Shorter works such as flash fiction are also welcome, as are works that challenge genre boundaries.

Water. Beaches. Coastlines. Island archipelagos. La Niña. Climate change. Floods. Thirst.

We leave the interpretation of the theme up to you!

Submissions are open to all, but we particularly welcome work from South Australian and regional writers, creative writing students, First Nations and POC writers, the LGBTQI+ community, and writers with a disability.

Please send submissions in a Word document using a plain size 12 font and 1.5 or double line spacing to saltbushreview@gmail.com by the 15th of June 2021. Please also include a 50 word biographical statement. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

We look forward to reading your writing!
